The new book The Painter's Fire: A Forgotten History of the Artists who Championed the American Revolution charts how artists on both sides of the Atlantic played an integral role in forging revolutionary ideals. Author Zara Anishanslin discusses artists from Robert Edge Pine and the Peale family to women artists and other lesser known figures, and maps the transatlantic nature of this consequential period.
Followed by a conversation with curator Carol Soltis about connections to art in the Philadelphia Museum of Art’s American galleries and audience Q&A.
